God’s perfect love and great plans for mankind
When God created the earth, He created everything with mankind in mind. Mankind was made to be God’s children. Hence, everything was made before Adam and Eve came into life, so that they had no lack. God did not make them work nor worry about anything. In fact, all that God wanted was for mankind to mankind to enjoy His creation with Him and to rule over His creation. God gave Adam the assignment to name all the animals not to give Adam a chore but to give Adam the authority and power through his words.
Mankind was deceived, thinking that God would withhold good things from him.
The serpent lied to Eve that they will not die but will have knowledge of good and evil after eating the fruit of knowledge. Adam and Eve believed the serpent instead of believing that God loves mankind with perfect love. They did not believe that God will not withhold anything good from them.
Sin’s dominance began ..the first tragic death.
The first death did not happen on Eve nor Adam. Instead, the first person to die was Abel, their beloved child and what was more tragic for them was that Abel was killed by his own brother. Cain believed that he was not loved and that Abel was better than him, which was not true.
A fallen world… where there are all kinds of evil…
Down the generations, people lived lives without God. They lived unfulfilled lives. The fallen angels had the ability to overpower them and the result was more evil.
God’s redemptive plan… to restore mankind
Though mankind hurt God by not believing God, God’s love for them had never changed. God continues to love them deeply, immensely, with a perfect love. God is a God of justice. Sin has its consequences. Anyone who sins is a slave to sin and has to face their consequences and judgement of their actions. However, God’s will is for mankind to live fulfilled, joyful and victorious lives, free from the power of sin, free from bondages. Hence, God sent His one and only begotten Son, Jesus, to come to this world to die in our place so that all the wages of sin can be paid, once and for all. So that mankind can once again be restored back into the presence of God to live a joyful, protected life of no scarcity, blessed with every heavenly blessings and endorsed with power and authority.
In fact, God’s redemptive plan to restore mankind began in the Garden of Eden when He pronounced the curse. When God pronounced the curse on the serpent, He stated in Genesis 3:15:
“And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
Her “Seed” refers to Jesus, the Son of God, whom God sent to this world to overcome the devil and set people free from the bondage of sin.
God sent His Son to reveal His love
Finally, our Saviour was borned. God sent His one and only beloved Son, LORD Jesus, to come to this world to save the world. Jesus was born, not of natural conception, nor of the desires and plans of human, but of God. Mary was a virgin who conceived Jesus supernaturally. The embryo was placed in Mary’s womb supernaturally by God. Jesus was God, came to become a man, a human.
Jesus came to give us eternal life
Jesus came to become our sin offering so that anyone who believes and accepts Jesus as LORD and Saviour is born again and have eternal life. Even in this present age on earth, believers can be set free from the dominance of sin and can live victorious lives — peace, prosperity, joy, self-control and every heavenly blessings. This is possible because Jesus has died in our place so that whoever believes in Him can have all their sins forgiven. They are forever righteous without a single fault (Colossians 1:22) because of what Christ had done for them. Therefore, the Holy Spirit of God can live in believers of Jesus Christ forever. As a result of the Holy Spirit living in us, we have every spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3).
