God Gave Us You is suitable for children from  6 months to 7 years old. Every child came to this world with a need for love. If you want your child to grow up confident, you have to let him know how much he is loved. That he is not a mistake to be born. Let him know that you were waiting for his arrival, that he is welcomed.

I came from an Asian family, born the last child of a family of seven children. My mother gave me a nickname ‘Ah Mai’ which means ‘do not want’. She believed that by calling me this name, she is telling the gods and supernatural force that she did not want any more children. She had enough. This name, however, had a very negative impact on me. From the moment I understand things, I know I am a surplus, It has great negative impact in my adult life too.

When I had my own children, I tell myself that my children must know they are loved. So parents, do verbalise your life. This book God Gave Us You is a great book for you to verbalise your love to your child. When I first heard the audio narration of this book, I fell in love with it. I have extracted part of it to share it here:

This story will surely instill in your child a deep love and give him the assurance that he is loved and that God has specially made him and brought him into this world, this family. It will build the parent and child bonding. Highly recommended. A book that you must read to your child.Listen to this audible narration and you will love it!

About the story: When a charming polar bear cub climbs into bed one night, she asks her Mama a very important question–one that little “human cubs” often wonder about, too: “Where did I come from?”

As Mama bear tucks her youngest cub under the quilts, she gently, tenderly, and reassuringly communicates the message loving parents everywhere (bears and non-bears alike) want their little ones to hear: “We wanted you very, very much, and we are so very glad because—God gave us you.”

Perfect for bedtime, naptime, storytime or anytime, God Gave Us You provides a valuable opportunity to build children’s self-esteem every day and assure each one that he or she truly is a welcomed, precious, and treasured gift from the Lord.
