The World’s First Online Kids Illustrated Bible Scriptures!
20 Apr 2016 marks the launch of “Parent and Child Bible Reading (Pncbiblereading)” website, a site that seeks to achieve a kids illustrated bible for parents to read with their kids in this digital age. We are beginning with the first sets of 12 ebooks and will keep adding on until we cover the entire bible. We have chosen to use the World English Bible (WEBPB) as this is a version that is Public Domain. The Bible Megasite review of the World English Bible says it is a good revision of the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV) into contemporary English, which also corrects some textual issues with the ASV.

Bible scriptures for kids? Why not Bible Story Books?
If you are wondering if the bible is too difficult for a child and whether it is better to read bible story books to them, I would say it should be the scriptures.
1. The Bible is God-Breathed
Remember, all scriptures is God-breathed. There is no insignificant words in the bible. The names of the bible characters have meaning. For example, there are reasons why God changed Abram’s name to Abraham and Sara’s name to Sarah.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
1 Timothy 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
2. The Bible is never out-dated
Although the bible was written thousand of years ago, our living God speaks to us through His scriptures. There are many prophecies in the bible that has been fulfilled. By reading them, our children learn that God’s words are truth and reliable. There are still many prophecies in the bible that are yet to be fulfilled. Our children need to know especially when they are living in the end-times. They need to know that as believers, we have hope even as the world gets darker and darker.
3. The Bible gives us answer & wisdom to our circumstance
Anyone who has been reading the bible will know that a verse that we had read years before may now bring a new revelation and give a new wisdom when we read it again. Our God is a living God and as believers, the Holy Spirit of God lives in us. The Holy Spirit of God will reveal all truths to us through the scriptures. If you face a problem and if you seek God’s answers through the scriptures, you will be amazed to find the answer there.
I have a friend who shared with me that he was having a girlfriend who was always criticising him. He did not know what he should do until one day he read Proverbs 21:19. A pastor shared that his church was depending on him to make a decision on what to do with a sum of money when he found the answer in Matthew 25:27.
Give the best to your child
Proverbs 22:6 teach us to start our child on the right path so that even when they are old, they will not turn away from it. Children have good memory and when they read the scriptures, they remember them well. These words will be a light to their path in all their life (Psalm 119:105)
As parents, we want to give the best to our children. The best thing you can give to your child, the one thing that you must teach your child is about God. When they have God, they have wisdom, they have every blessings they need.
When is the right time to start reading bible?
You can start singing songs of praise to your child even when he is in your womb. You can start telling him about God and praying with him the moment he is born. You can read to him the bible stories when he is just able to sit. However, when your child is beginning to be able to read, that’s the right time to read the actual bible scriptures with him.
Start children off on the way they should go,and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6 New International Version (NIV)
My own experience
During my school days, my seniors from Campus Crusade for Christ taught me to put God first and to read the word of God before I began each study session. That was the best habit I had built for it actually led me on a journey of knowing God intimately where I experienced miracles, blessings and strengths to go through every trials in life.
So when my child was beginning to read, I make a point to read the bible with him everyday before he began his homework. Though I was unable to get a fully illustrated bible for kids, I read the bible with him. I can remember we had many excellent moments feeding on God’s words and growing together in Him. However, at times, he got distracted because the scriptures were full of words. It was because of this reason, I set my mind then, that someday, I will embark on a mission to illustrate God’s words. It seems an impossible task initially. You can read my full story of how miraculous the journey is here.
Later, I went back to the workforce and when I was struggling in a broken marriage, I did not continue the bible reading schedule with my child. By the time my child reached his teenage years, he had his tight school schedule and teaching him about God was no longer an easy task.
Parents, the easiest time to tell your child about God is when they are young. Once they reach teenage years, they are very busy with their school work, friends, games and school’s extra curriculum activities.
