King David was a man who had a close walk with God, who knew God intimately. From the days of his youth when God protected him from wild animals, to his victory over Goliath, and through the years living in fear, being pursued by King Saul, to his kingship and through the difficult days when his own son, Absalom, plotted against him, God had protected him and he had experienced God’s faithfulness, favour and forgiveness even when he sinned.

David knew that God is good and in Psalm 23:6, he confidently declare that “Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life..” It was his knowledge of God that gave him the courage to take up the challenge to fight Goliath. David knew that it was God who bless him with talents and sets him on high places (Psalm 18:33).

Friends, do you know that God plans for you is also to set you on high places? Think of all the man of God in the bible — Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David,  Daniel, Gideon and many others. All these men were leaders. Do you know that many of these men made big mistakes in their life? Abraham lied again and again, endangering his wife. Moses was a murderer. David was both an adulterer and a murderer. They made mistakes but they never depart from God. They had intimate relationship with God.

It is God’s desire that we have an intimate walk with Him. It is also God’s will that we are set on high places. Read Genesis Chapter 1, verse 26 and 28, the word dominance is repeated in these two verses. When you read the bible, you will notice that when something is very important, God will repeat it, at least twice. In just the first chapter, it was mentioned twice that God made man to have dominance over everything on earth. Yes, we are made to be the head and not the tail. If you read Genesis Chapter 1, you can see how God got everything ready before he made human beings. We are destined to reigned! Do you know? We are born to lead! The bible did not say that Adam and Eve had to work hard to win the support of the animals and gain dominance over them. No! God did all the work. God planned for Adam to be the leader. Everything was prepared for Adam.

If you think that only some people, e.g. King David, were destined to receive special favour, that is not true. God’s will is to set us on high places. There is no ‘insufficiencies’ with God’s vacancies. The only condition is to walk intimately with God. Jesus said “..But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you…”(Matthew 6:33)  and “…I am the vine and you are thebranches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing“...(John 15:5). If you are skeptical, why not give it a try? Read the bible, talk to God everyday…you will be surprised God talks to you too… for He is a Living God (Jeremiah 10:10).

Friends, if you are in a difficult situation in your life.. perhaps you have lost your career.. or you are an athlete going through tough training preparing for some competition.. or you are a scientist who have failed countless of times in your research or a businessman struggling in your startup business, go to our Lord Jesus. He will help you. He will save you. He will give you success you never imagine you can achieve on your own. And if you have not known Jesus and had never received Jesus into your life as Saviour and Lord, say this simple prayer in your heart:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Because of your finished work on the cross, I now can have victory in my life. I pray and receive You as Lord and Saviour of my life. You know the difficult situation I am in, come, help me.  In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen

He makes my feet like the feet of deer and sets me on my high places.Psalm 18:33 (NKJV)
