What does the word Gospel mean?

The word “Gospel” comes from a Greek word euangelion, which literally means “good news.” There are four gospels in the Bible and these four books are all about  the good news to mankind brought about by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, coming to this world. Jesus, the Son of God came to be born as a human being so that He could take our position and die for our sins. In so doing, He conquered death so that anyone who believes and accepts Jesus as their LORD and Saviour could receive forgiveness for all their sins and have eternal life. Jesus also came to set us free from the stronghold of the devil so that we can live a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10).
