Notes for parents and guardians

If you dare to believe….

Matthew 9:18-26 has two healing miracles. (The healing of the woman with a flow of blood (discussed in our previous reading. ) and the healing of the ruler’s daughter who had died. If you study these two healing, both the woman with the flow of blood as well as the ruler’s dead daughter were considered unclean under the law of Moses. Anyone who touches a dead body would become unclean and if he does not purify himself, he will be cut off from Israel (Leviticus 19:13, 20). Also, under the law, anyone who enters a tent where there is a dead person, will become unclean for seven days (Leviticus 19:14).

Yet, for that ruler, not only did he believe that Jesus can raise his daughter back to life, he believed that Jesus would be willing to enter his house!  Likewise, the woman with the flow of blood gave no thoughts to whether she was against the law of Moses to touch Jesus.  Perhaps she had heard (Mark 5:27) of how Jesus touched the leper (who was also considered unclean) and the leper was healed. Whatever she might be thinking, the fact was, she simply believed that she could be healed when she touched just the fringe of His garment. It was a simple faith.

That simple faith enabled the woman to draw out the power from Jesus even before she discovered her (Mark 5:29-33)! Isn’t that amazing? Faith alone cause miracles to happen. Regardless of whether we are still sinful or not, regardless of how hopeless the situation may be — whether the person had that illness for years or whether that person had died — if we dare to simply believe that God is willing to give us life and health, miracles will happen.

Did you notice

Did you notice….

Did you notice that Jesus sent out the crowd? Why did He do that? This miracle was also recorded in Luke 8:41-56 and Mark 5:22-43. In all the scriptures, we read that Jesus sent out the crowd. Why? We read that the people were not believing (Matthew 9:24, Mark 5:40, Luke 8:54).

Jesus had to send the crowd out because disbelief would prevent miracles from happening.

Love letter from GodWhat are you believing?

My child, what are you believing in life? When something bad happens, do you simply give up hope and accept the natural or do you believe that you can pray and every of your prayer is heard by God? Would you dare to believe that because Jesus’  blood has cleansed us of all our past, present and future sins, we who believe in Jesus has the Holy Spirit living in us and we have power from heaven (Luke 24:49). We are given authority and our words have power. Whatever we pray and if we believe that we receive it, we will have what we prayed for (Matthew 21:21-22,Mark 11:23-24,Luke 11:9,John 14:14, 15:7, 15:16 16:23).

Beloved, you are not just a child of God, you are a beloved child of God. You are chosen by God (John 15:16) and God loves you dearly (John 16:27). Do you know that God loves you as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23)?

You are Jesus’ glory (John 17:10) and God watches over you and cares for you (John 17:11). The challenges you faced in life are not from God (Isaiah 54:15). God’s will is for you to lead a life of power, securely established in Christ (Isaiah 54:10, John 10:10) and no weapon form against you can prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Therefore, if sickness comes into your path, take up your authority, rebuke the disease and receive your healing. If people are jealous of you and persecute you, pray for the evil spirits of strife to be removed and ask God for wisdom to handle every situation. If you lose your job, give thanks, pray and believe that God has a higher paying and better job for you. Whatever challenges you face in life, remember that you have power from heaven (Luke 24:49), pray and believe.
