Get to know Jesus

Jesus delights in providing for us

In today’s reading on John 6:1-13, we learn that even without the people asking, even when the disciples thought it was not possible, Jesus already had planned to do the miracle and provide for the people.

This miracle was recorded in all the 4 gospel : Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:11-17 and John 6:1-13. In Matthew’s account, this miracle followed after Jesus learned that John the Baptist was beheaded and Jesus was going to a deserted place to spend time with God when the multitudes followed Him and He was moved with compassion for them.

In John 6:22-71, we learned that Jesus not only want to provide for them earthly food but also that they may have food that endures into eternity.

Jesus will provide for us. In fact He delights in blessing us. Nothing is impossible with God. If He can and would fed the 5000 even without they asking, how much more when we ask and seek Him. He will do great miracles for us!

Did you notice…

That Jesus told the disciples to get the people to sit down..

Did you notice that in John 6:10, Jesus told the disciple to have the people to sit down. When we rest in God,  God’s miracles can take place. His supply will flow.

The disciples distribute to those who were sitting down..

All scriptures are God-breathed. There is a reason why the scripture stated in verse 11 that the disciples distribute to all who were sitting down. God wants us to rest in Him. He will provide.

That Jesus gave thanks to God and miracles happen.

When we thank God, there is power. Miracles take place.

So, no matter how tough your situation may be, praise God. Miracles will happen when you give thanks.

That Jesus distribute to His disciples for them to distribute to the people.

God will bless us so that we can overflow to bless others.

How do I become a believer?

We are justified by faith in Jesus. (Romans 5:1). Therefore, we only need to believe and say a prayer as follows:

“Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins. I believe you are the Son of God and that You love me and desire to bless me with the abundant life and eternal life that You promise. I believe and receive You as my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus name I pray, amen.”
