Get to know Jesus

Jesus is the Bread of Life that comes from heaven

Jesus is the Bread of Life that comes from heaven. Whoever comes to Him will lack nothing. Not only will Jesus provide them the food for this short earthly life, Jesus will also provide them the food that will endure into eternal life. Anyone who believes in Jesus will have eternal life and Jesus will raise him up at the last day.

The day before, Jesus fed more than 5000 people. The following day when the people sought Jesus, He wanted to give them even more! Jesus wanted the people to have the food that will endure into eternal life and revealed to them that simply by believing in Him, He will be able to give them the food which last to eternity.

That’s our Jesus. He is always giving  more than we could ever ask or imagine! Jesus loves us. He always bless us, always want to give us heavenly blessings. Let’s seek Jesus, let’s give thanks and praise Jesus.

Are you wondering…

If Jesus was reprimanding the people?

No! Not at all.

Jesus knew that the people sought Him because He had provided for them (they ate loaves and were filled). Not only did Jesus want to feed them in this earthly life that is short, He wanted to provide for them the food for eternity, the food that will last forever.

What does it mean to eat the flesh of Jesus and drink of His blood?

In Matthew 26:26-27, we learn that the bread represents Jesus’ body broken for us and the wine represents the blood of Jesus shed for us. Hence, when we partake of the Holy Communion, we will live in Jesus and Jesus will live in us (John 6:56). As Jesus lives because of the Father, so anyone who feeds on Jesus will also live (John 6:57).

We are justified by faith in Jesus. (Romans 5:1). Therefore, we only need to believe and say a prayer as follows:

“Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins. I believe you are the Son of God and that You love me and desire to bless me with the abundant life and eternal life that You promise. I believe and receive You as my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus name I pray, amen.”
