Why Do We Have To Ask God to Provide?

Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.  And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. (John 6:10-11, NKJV)

Our LORD Jesus says we should not worry about what we will eat and what we will wear for our Father in heaven already knows all our needs and will provide for us. So a question many people ask is, why then do we have to ask God to provide?

I asked the LORD this question and one day, I found the answer in John 6:10-11. In this occasion, our LORD Jesus already knew how He was going to provide for the people, just like our Father in Heaven has already planned out all our provisions.

Did you notice in the feeding of the 5000, Jesus did the following:

  1.  First, Jesus told the people to sit down.
  2. Second, Jesus gave thanks.
  3. Third, Jesus distributed the food through the disciples.

This means that :

  1. Our provision comes when we are at rest (sitted down).
  2. We do not need to beg nor pray ernestly nor sweat to be provided.
  3. God wants us to experience the miracle and the power that we have.

The third point is the answer to our question! Yes, God wants us to experience the miracle and the power that we have! So, when we speak, when we confidently speak out our prayers by giving thanks to our Father in heaven, miracles happen. So in this way, we will know that we have the power.

As believers, we have this power because of the finished work of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us. By His blood, we are forever forgiven and we become children of God. The Holy Spirit of God can live in us forever.

Today, whatever is your need, say a prayer with confidence that you have already been provided and see the miracle happening.

If you are not yet a believer:

God loves you. He sent is only beloved Son, LORD Jesus to come and die for your sins so that by Jesus’ blood, you are forever forgiven and you can live a victorious life of health, wealth, joy and every blessings from heaven. Anyone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God and receives Him as LORD and Saviour has eternal life. You can become a believer simply by believing in your heart and saying this prayer:

Dear LORD Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I believe that you love me and chose to die for my sins so that I can live a victorious life. I receive you right now as my LORD and Saviour and from this time forth, I am a new creation, a child of God Most High. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
