You have a kingdom to inherit.
Do you know how God feels when He blessed Adam in Genesis 1:26-28?
This is what the Bible stated in Genesis 1:26-28:
Then God said, “Let us make a man someone like ourselves, to be the master of all life upon the earth and in the skies and in the seas.”
So God made man like his Maker.
Like God did God make man;
Man and maid did he make them.
And God blessed them and told them, “Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it; you are masters of the fish and birds and all the animals.
Genesis 1:26-28 (ICB)
Simply by reading this scripture, it is difficult for us to visualise God’s feelings when He blessed Adam. However, if you consider the following two extract from TV series, you may be able to understand:
1. In the TV series “The Last Kingdom”, when Utred carried his newborn son, he said this:
“He has a kingdom to inherit. I will see that it happens.”
2. In another TV series “The Crown”, when Al Fayed carried his newborn son, Dodi, he said this:
“I promise I will be the greatest of fathers. Then together we will survey the world we have conquered. Together. Always.”
In both cases, the director of the shows portrayed very clearly the pride of a new father, his love and blessings he wanted for his child. This is how God felt when He blessed Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:26-28. God was blessing them with the kingdom God had built for them.
If you read Genesis 1:26-28 thinking that Adam was created to become a “supervisor” to work in God’s field and to toil and sweat, you are wrong. The curse of having to toil and sweat is only in Genesis 3:17 when mankind sinned.
Though mankind had fallen, God’s love for mankind remains unchanged. He demonstrated His love by sending His one and only beloved Son, Jesus Christ to die for mankind so that we can be forgiven and restored. Do you know God has prepared a Kingdom for you?
God has a kingdom for you to inherit
Now, close your eyes and picture this —when you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, sent by our heavenly Father to come and die for our sins and when you accept and receive Jesus into your life, all your sins are forgiven. From that very moment, you are born again of the Holy Spirit. From that moment, you are God’s child, you are His heir. Try to picture how your heavenly Father rejoices over you as a newborn and all the blessings and dreams He had for you as a Father. Whatever that Adam and Eve had lost is now restored and in fact, you have much more (Romans 5:17). You too have a kingdom to inherit.
Promises of the Kingdom of God
Read what Jesus said:
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
Matthew 25:34 (NLT)
But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.
Matthew 26:29 (AMP)
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:3 (ESV)
What the apostles wrote:
Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?
James 2:5 (ESV)
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:11 (NLT)
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
Colossians 3:1-2 (NLT)
Hold on to these promises of God
All these scriptures assure us that believers of Jesus have a kingdom to inherit.
My child, let nothing discourage you. Instead know that you are a child of God. You have an eternal kingdom to inherit. Therefore, live by the Spirit of God and reign in your life.
If you are not yet a believer, you can pray this prayer to receive Jesus into your life:
“Dear LORD Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God and that you love me so much that you chose to die for my sins so that I can have eternal life and enter the Kingdom of God. LORD Jesus, come into my life and be my Saviour and LORD. Thank you for your love and for all that you have done for me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can live victoriously. I believe and declare that from this moment, I am forgiven, I am a child of God. I am born again, I am a new creation. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
If you have said the above prayer, you are born again by the Holy Spirit. Write down this date so that you will never forget this new birthday. You are now a child of God, you are a new creation. You have the Kingdom of heaven to inherit. You have a new life, you are called a Christian. Look for a church near you, start reading the bible everyday and walk with Jesus. You can turn to Jesus with all your cares and worries. He is with you always and He will guide you. You will be amazed as you walk this new journey.
