Yours is the Kingdom of Heaven!
One of the most difficult times in life is when you are financially broke and all your siblings, close friends and relatives around you are extremely successful and earning great fortunes. Perhaps you are a missionary who volunteered to devote your life to evangelism. Or perhaps you are pursuing a business and after some years, you have yet to see success, but you have sought God and you know God has led you into this business but you have not seen results. Or perhaps you met some tragedies and your career is ruined and you have lost your ability to make a living. Whatever is your situation, my friend, I want you to know that when Jesus walked on earth, the first sentence of His first sermon to the multitudes was a promise to you in Matthew 5:3 that great is your reward in heaven. If you have God in your life, your reward is the Kingdom of heaven and what you are going to own in heaven is going to be many times far more than what your earthly friends have.
My friend, if the first sentence of Jesus’ first sermon is this promise that those who are poor in Spirit will have the Kingdom of heaven, then you can be sure, His words will not return to Him void. If you are having difficulty visualising what this promise meant, then imagine one day, the lawyer of one of your richest relative who own an extremely profitable company came to knock on your door and say your inheritance is company, how rich will you be? Now, it is Jesus who promises that your inheritance is the Kingdom of heaven. How rich will you be?
The riches in this world is uncertain. You can be rich today but you can lose it tomorrow as what Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-20 but put your hope in God who richly provides us with everything for enjoyment as stated in 1 Timothy 6:17. I know, sometimes, when we see everyone around us doing well, we ask God ” when, Lord, when?” We get impatient, then depressed and doubted the existence and love of God.
If today, you are feeling hopeless, go take a walk with God. Look up to the sky. Call out to Jesus. Cry to Him. You will feel His comfort. In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus taught that when we have a close walk with God, even when tribulation and temptation come, we are not crushed nor tempted because the promise of our inheritance in the kingdom of heaven will strengthen our faith like roots deepening in soil. As we grow in faith, we will reap our fruits in many many folds because God promises in Hebrew 11:6 that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Be thankful to God that your difficult situation has drawn you closer to God and be thankful that God has chosen to give you this knowledge of understanding the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven as stated in Matthew 13:11. Matthew 22:14 stated that many are called but few are chosen, so count that the greatest blessing that God has chosen you, it is greater than all the riches on earth. In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus described the riches of this world as deceitful. Hence, do not let the riches of this world make you forget the promise of your inheritance of the Kingdom of heaven. For that is the place where your riches will last forever as Jesus told us in Matthew 6:20.
I have more good news for you. As I meditate on the scriptures in Matthew 13:11, God reminded me of another scripture in Matthew 12:28 where Jesus said the kingdom of God has come. When you received Jesus in your life, the kingdom of heaven has come upon you. And in the Parable of the Sower, Jesus promised in Matthew 13:8 and Matthew 13:23 that we will bear fruits in our seasons, we will be successful, we will prosper, many many folds.
My friend, this is the mysteries of the the kingdom of heaven, that when we develop a close walk with God, our faith will be strengthen as God’s words of promises get reinforced in us. As we put our hope in God and wait upon Him, we will DEFINITELY prosper and be successful and fruitful in the things we do.
